Litigation History

Attorney Mugridge has extensive criminal litigation experience including felony drug charges, fraud, embezzlement, rape, child molestation, human trafficking, homicide with special circumstances, and several death penalty cases, without a single death penalty imposed.  He is a vigorous defender of the California and United States Constitutions, and demands that the prosecution and the judicial system afford each client a fair trial through quality representation

Attorney David Mugridge is a member of the California State Bar, and a Certified Criminal Law Specialist. David is a graduate of San Joaquin College of Law here in the Central Valley, and has over 30 years of experience working in the criminal law field.


David began his legal career in 1986 with the Fifth District Court of Appeals where he learned the art of true legal writing. Working at the Fifth District Court of Appeals provided David with an opportunity to work on both Writs and Appeals. As a result the Mugridge Moran Law Firm is one of the only firms in the Central Valley that handles these complex legal matters.

David left the Fifth District Court of Appeals in 1988, and began working with the firm of Nuttall, Berman, and Magill, where he continued to practice with the firm until 1989. In September of 1989, David opened Mugridge law Firm, a private firm that practices only criminal law. David developed a passion for working with men, women, and juveniles who have been accused and/or convicted of a criminal offense.  The Law Firm is licensed to practice in all state and Federal district courts in California, in the U.S. Circuit Court for the 9th Circuit, and in the United States Supreme Court.

In 1994, David attended the Death Penalty College at Santa Clara University, and the “Colorado Method,” of jury selection a the University of Colorado-Bolder in 2016. In 1999, the State Bar of California certified David as a Certified Criminal Law Specialist. He is A-V rated with Martindale-Hubbell and has a 10 rating with AVVO.  Attorney Mugridge is also proud to have been listed as a “Super Lawyer” by Thompson Reuters for seven years in a row and a, “Top 100: Attorney by the National Trial Lawyers Association.
